La variation lexicale du français au Moyen Âge constitue une dimension lliinngguuiiss-- tique à part entière qui est, depuis toujours, largement sous-estimée – et sous- exploitée – par les historiens de la langue, les philologues, les éditeurs de textes et, même, les lexicographes. Telle qu’elle apparaît dans les sources écrites, cette varia- tion est déterminée par différents paramètres, en dehors, bien entendu, de celui de l’espace : le temps, les genres textuels et, plus généralement, les conditions particu- lières de l’écrit médiéval. Dans cette logique, la variation lexicale suit la tendance des scriptae médiévales à réduire la variation dans l’espace, en favorisant des choix suprarégionaux. Les processus de copie réduisent ultérieurement cette variation, ce qui affecte avant tout les textes littéraires.
Si le degré de la variation lexicale est difficile à quantifier, il est nettement supé- rieur à ce qui transparaît à première vue dans les textes médiévaux. En conséquence, ceux-ci méritent d’être interrogés de près en suivant la voie ouverte par Gilles Roques. Le colloque prendra en effet appui sur un inventaire de ca1500 régiona- lismes relevés dans près de 250 articles et comptes rendus de l’ancien secrétaire et membre d’honneur de la Sociétéde Linguistique Romane. Cette assise empirique est destinée à être développée dans le cadre du colloque et, au-delà, dans la recherche future.

After Nijmegen in 2013 and York in 2014 the University of Zurich will host the 3rd annual symposium of the network Microanalysis Of Online Data (MOOD) from 16th-17th July 2015. The international symposium aims to bring together scholars interested in (methodologies of) microanalytic research of Computer-Mediated Discourse, rooted in methodological traditions such as conversation analysis, discursive psychology and discourse analysis.

The eighth Edisyn Workshop aims at bringing together scholars working in the field of dialect syntax and syntactic microvariation. The general topic of the workshop will be "Pathways of Syntactic Diffusion".

The workshop included invited talks from internationally recognised experts in data standardisation and exchange and three practical tutorials on concrete issues in collecting, storing, and managing complex linguistic and spatial data. The tutorials were given by the lab leaders and they were crafted specifically to address the needs of the researchers at UZH. They addressed issues such as basic text encoding (ASCII, UNICODE), markup (XML), transcription, metadata, spatial sampling, spatial format, scaling, multimedia data, and other topics of interest which had been identified by means of a questionnaire distributed to the interested participants prior to the workshop.

Der interdisziplinäre Workshop dient dem Austausch zwischen Linguisten und Biologen an der UZH, die sich mit dem Thema "Anpassungsprozesse in der Sprache/im Vokalisierungsverhalten" befassen. Ziel des Workshops ist, einen Einblick in die Forschungsfragen und Methoden der anderen Disziplin zu bekommen und übergeordnete Fragestellungen zu diskutieren.
